29. 5 ^ (x-1) = 9 --> log 5 ^ (x-1) = log 9 --> (x-1) log 5 = log 9 --> x-1 = log 9 / log 5 | x = (log 9 / log 5) -1 Use your calculator. btw, log base is 10 for all.

Last step for Qn29 shld be x= log9/log5 + 1. Qn34 is correct :)
