Juan Banchs added a new photo: Another question; why does resistivity increase exponentially against temperature? If I didn't phrase that properly, basically why does resistivity increase faster than temperature in a resistivity against temperature graph? Or just look at the picture... Sorry Or is this another of those things that just happen...?

  • Juan Banchs:Not exactly; something like when temperature increases the atoms of the material have more energy, thus opposing the electron flow or resisting it more?

  • Shu Yun:Yup it's about gaining of energy and vibration of atoms. We're focusing on electrons here as electrons conduct electricity. When the temperature increases, the atoms gain more kinetic energy and vibrate greater, causing electrons to disperse further apart from each other and harder to conduct electricity.. i hope i didnt rmb wrongly :P
